CAIR-FL to Hold Press Conference with Family of Tampa Teen Beaten by Israelis

Tariq-Khdeir(TAMPA, FL 7/6/14) — On Monday, July 7, the Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Florida) will hold a press conference in Tampa with the family of Tariq Khdeir, the high school student who was released from custody and placed under house arrest today after he was brutally beaten and detained by Israeli forces in Jerusalem.

Khdeir's brutal beating was captured on video. He is a cousin of kidnapped and murdered Palestinian teen Mohammed Abu Khdeir.

The Washington-based Muslim civil rights organization had called on American officials to press for Khdeir's release. CAIR also joined Maryland relatives of the beaten teen at a rally Saturday outside the White House in Washington, D.C.
