(Miami, FL – 1/31/2017) CAIR Florida, the state’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization announced today that it is joining the Miami Fights Back Coalition rally in refusal of Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos GimÃ©nez’s assimilation of President Donald Trump’s mass deportation Executive Orders. The objective of the rally is to issue a set of demands to Miami-Dade mayor Carlos GimÃ©nez and Miami-Dade’s County Commission.
In addition to CAIR-Florida, the Miami Coalition includes Miami-Dade residents, businesses, community organizers, and civil rights organizations including, but not limited to, Dream Defenders, Jewish Voice for Peace, SFL’s Network Against Islamophobia, PARCEO, and several elected officials and political organizations including New Florida Majority, Student Power Network, FLIC, SEIU, CCCA, Miami-Dade Democratic Party, and many others.
