(ATLANTA, GA, 3/24/2023): On Monday, March 27, 2023 at 9:00 a.m., the Georgia chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-Georgia), Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), and Georgia Muslim Voter Project (GAMVP) will hold a press conference to condemn HB 144.

HB 144 codifies the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s (IHRA) definition of antisemitism. However, the IHRA definition and HB 144 wrongly conflate antisemitism with criticism of the Israeli government.
The joint press conference will be attended by coalition partners, faith leaders and community members to highlight the effect HB 144 will have on free speech and critical conversations about Israel.
