(HOUSTON, TEXAS – 6/12/16) â€“ A coalition of interfaith organizations and community leaders will hold a news conference on June 13 at 11 a.m. at the Montrose Center, 401 Branard Street, Houston, to condemn the Orlando nightclub shooting that left 50 dead and over 50 injured.
Participants will offer condolences to the victims of the shooting and their families. They will also ask the community to participate in a local blood drive for those injured in the attack.
â€œWe condemn this attack and offer our deepest condolences to the victims and their families,â€ said Mustafaa Carroll with the Houston chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. â€œWe repudiate anyone or any organization that claims to justify such an appalling act of violence.â€
