This event will be live-streamed on the CAIR-Houston Facebook page:

CAIR-Houston is partnering with Steven Wu of OCA-Greater Houston to respond to the recent deportation of Cambodian refugees and the attempted deportation of Vietnamese refugees, most of whom came to the United States under federal protection before 1995.

Deportations of Cambodian refugees started as early as 2002 and the efforts have become more aggressive under the Trump administration. Concerns that deportation efforts will continue and begin targeting the Vietnamese refugee families has created tension and fear in the AAPI community. Families are already facing separation caused by the deportations that have taken place.

“CAIR-Houston and OCA-Greater Houston are working together to elevate the voices of impacted people, to not only humanize their stories but draw attention to the unconstitutionality of the situation as it is,” said CAIR-Houston Communications Coordinator Sobia Siddiqui.
