CAIR-Ohio: First Amendment attorneys say Ohio bill aimed at curbing antisemitism may infringe on rights

But critics of the bill, like Khalid Turaani the CAIR-Ohio executive director Columbus, Cincinnati and Dayton, worry the definition is too vague and the examples infringe on someone’s ability to be critical of Israel.

“I mean, in America, you can burn the American flag, but you cannot criticize a foreign country. I think this is a sad day in America,” he said, “This is not a debate about antisemitism. This is a debate about free speech.”

Turaani added that the bill could open the door to more restrictions on speech in the country.

“Subverting the first amendment of the constitution, I think is, is very dangerous and a very slippery slope for us to go on,” he said.

CAIR: Israeli attack kills Palestinian man whose final embrace of his granddaughter became an iconic moment of the war – Associated press

In a statement, Nihad Awad, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, denounced the Biden administration for allowing Israel to continue its war on Palestinians.

Awad said: “The Israeli occupation’s murder of Palestinian grandfather Khaled Nabhan is just the latest example of what it has done for years: wiping out generations of families. If President Biden has a conscience, it should be impossible for him to witness the slaughter of a fellow grandfather and continue to fund the killing of more families. We ask God to reunite Khaled with his granddaughter in the highest rank of paradise, and we pray that God holds their murderers accountable.”

CAIR: During this holiday season, and every day, we must remember that ‘the children are always ours’

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) states that the Biden administration is responsible for the increase in child amputees. According to its national director, Nihad Awad, Biden has remained “unmoved by Israel’s systemic campaign of slaughter, ethnic cleansing, forced starvation, and mass destruction that he unfortunately supported and excused.” The U.N. Human Rights Office claims there are 19,000 dead children.
