(WASHINGTON D.C., 5/27/2022) – The Kentucky chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-KY) today condemned alleged racist comments made by a high school teacher in Jefferson Co. and called on the school district to offer an anti-racist curriculum.
A cell phone video reportedly shows the teacher talking to one or two students in a hallway. The teacher reportedly used the phrase “f***ing monkey s**t you’re throwing around” and told the students “one of your middle names must be the n-word.” The school district is reportedly investigating the incident.

“This teacher’s alleged actions are appalling, especially given the fact that they were reportedly directed at students,” said CAIR-Kentucky Board Chair Salah Shakir. “We call on Jefferson County Public Schools to offer an anti-racist curriculum for students and staff to make it clear that such behavior will not be tolerated on campuses.”
He said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, and white supremacy.
