(LEXINGTON, KY – (2/20/2019) – Later today, representatives of the Kentucky chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-KY) will join a rally of faith leaders from around Central Kentucky at the “6th Annual Refugee and Immigrant Day at the State Capitol” in Frankfort, Ky., to show their commitment to welcoming and advocating for refugees and immigrants.

CAIR-KY Chair Waheedah Muhammad, who will speak at the rally, said: “As advocates for justice and as people of faith, we have a responsibility to remind our fellow congregants of the messages embodied in every faith tradition regarding the plight of refugees and immigrants. And as leaders in our communities, we must be willing to challenge injustice at the highest levels of power.”
The interfaith rally is part of a full day of events scheduled for the “6th Annual Refugee and Immigrant Day at the State Capitol.”
