CAIR-LA: Interfaith, Civil Rights Groups to Call for Hate Crime Probe of Anti-Muslim Agitators Who Disrupted Candidates’ Forum

(ANAHEIM, CA, 2/7/2020) – Later today, several interfaith and civil rights groups will host a 2 p.m. press conference at the American Islamic Institute of Antelope Valley (1125 E. Palmdale Blvd., Palmdale CA 92560) to call for a hate crime probe of the anti-Muslim, pro-Trump agitators who disrupted a candidates’ forum earlier this week.

Representatives from the Greater Los Angeles Area office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations Greater Los Angeles Area Chapter (CAIR-LA), the American Islamic Institute of Antelope Valley, the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California (ACLU) and other interfaith and civil rights groups will speak about the Feb. 1 incident in which agitators interrupted the forum, yelling at participants and threatening a woman with a hijab (religious head scarf).
