CAIR-MI REP GIVES DIVERSITY TRAINING ABOUT MUSLIMS AT UNITED WAY
(SOUTHFIELD, MI, 3/20/07) – The Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI) Executive Director Dawud Walid today offered a diversity training session at the United Way’s Detroit headquarters. Walid addressed the crowd of over 100 staff members, covering a broad range of topics including demographics of Muslims and the negative effects of Islamophobia in social services institutions.
CAIR, America’s largest Islamic civil liberties group, has 32 offices and chapters nationwide and in Canada. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
