(CANTON, MI 10/21/2023) – The Michigan chapter of Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI), a local chapter of the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today sent its condolences to the family of Samantha Woll, President of Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue, who was found dead today outside of her home in Detroit apparently due to stab wounds.
Woll was found deceased today outside of her home with multiple stab wounds which apparently were a result of an attack inside of her home. Detroit Police and the FBI are currently investigating her death as a homicide.

“We are troubled by the apparent homicide of Samantha Woll, a beloved leader within her faith community in Metro Detroit,” said CAIR-MI Executive Director Dawud Walid. “We also send our sincere condolences to her family and friends and to the Detroit Jewish community as a whole for the tragic loss.”
Walid also noted that he has participated in interfaith activities with Woll’s congregation in past years and stood in solidarity with them at a prayer vigil by the synagogue after the 2018 attack against the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburg, PA.
