Representatives of CAIR’s Maryland-Virginia office (CAIR-Mid-Atlantic) this
week met with leadership of the Maryland and Virginia/D.C. FBI offices. The
purpose of the meetings was to discuss issues facing the Muslim communities
living in Maryland, Virginia, and the Washington metro area. Among the main
concerns were current civil rights issues and the importance of sensitivity
training for FBI agents and officials.
The meeting also focused on how CAIR Mid-Atlantic could offer religious and
cultural sensitivity training to all members of the FBI and other law
enforcement agencies in the Mid-Atlantic region.
