(MINNEAPOLIS, MN, 3/7/22) – The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN) today welcomed the arrest of suspects who allegedly robbed Masjid Al-Ihsan in St Paul, Minn.
Jeremy Allen Glass, 32, and Christopher Edward Hughes, 34, have been charged with second-degree burglary of the mosque and aiding and abetting auto theft and attempted theft.
CAIR-MN and community leaders had called for an FBI investigation of the robbery.
“We welcome these arrests and thank law enforcement authorities for their swift and effective actions in this case,” said CAIR-MN Executive Director Jaylani Hussein.
He said CAIR is repeating its suggestion that houses of worship take extra security precautions using its “Best Practices for Mosque and Community Safety” booklet. The advice in CAIR’s security publication is applicable to religious institutions of all faiths.
