CAIR-MN: Minnesota Muslims Condemn Orlando Massacre, Community urged to attend Vigil and Press Conference

CAIR MN logo(MINNEAPOLIS, MN, 6/12/2016) - The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN) today joined, the Minnesota Muslim community in condemning the horrific mass shooting at an Orlando nightclub.

“Minnesota Muslims condemn in the strongest possible terms the mass shooting in Orlando,” said Jaylani Hussein, Executive Director of the Minnesota Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. “We offer our heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of all those killed or injured” 

The LGBTQ community has stood side by side with the American Muslim community during challenging and difficult times. We stand together against hatred, violence and demonization of entire communities. 

Communities members are urged to attend a community vigil on Sunday June 12th.

Florida's Muslim community has also condemned the massacre alongside leaders of Florida's LGBTQ community, which has often defended Florida Muslims from Islamophobia and discrimination.
