(OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, 4/3/19) – The Oklahoma Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-OK) today condemned recent anti-Semitic, racist, homophobic, white supremacist vandalism targeting locations in Oklahoma City and Norman including 3 locations targeted overnight in Norman.

Hate-filled words and symbols were spray-painted by an individual or individuals clearly espousing white supremacist views. The incidents discovered in Norman this morning follow a report from the Islamic Society of Norman two weeks ago of possible vandalism at its mosque, when a white man reportedly urinated on the side of the house of worship.
“The same person or persons who last week displayed their hate so boldly have now made it clear that they aren’t going to stop. From Oklahoma City to Norman, we are seeing clearly that intolerance is alive and well in our community,” said CAIR-OK Civil Rights Director Veronica Laizure. “We will continue to join hands to show you that hate isn’t acceptable. We will come together as a community to wash away bigotry. And we will work to end the hatred and fear that the perpetrators are trying to spread.”
Last week, CAIR-OK Civil Rights Director Veronica Laizure joined Imam Imad Enchassi from the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City to assist in cleanup efforts after the Oklahoma Democratic Party headquarters was targeted by racist vandalism.
