(OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, 3/6/20) – On Monday, March 9, the Oklahoma chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-OK) and ACLU of Oklahoma will hold a news conference at 10 a.m. in the Capitol Press Room focused on the House Passage of HB 3967, a clearly unconstitutional bill that targets free speech.

Lani Habrock, CAIR-OK Government Affairs Director, and Michael Redman, Interim Legal Director for the ACLU of Oklahoma will be available for comment on the bill. Also speaking will be Rep. Chelsey Branham (D-Oklahoma City).
HB 3967, if enacted, would force business contracting with the state to certify that they will not engage in a boycott of goods or services from Israel. CAIR, the American Civil Liberties Union, and other civil rights organizations have filed free speech lawsuits against similar laws in Georgia, Arkansas, Arizona, Maryland, and Texas, where CAIR won a landmark legal victory last year.
