(PORTLAND, OR, 12/20/19) – On Friday, January 24, 2020, the Oregon chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Oregon), a chapter of the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, will host Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) — the first Muslim woman to serve in Congress — at its inaugural banquet with the theme “Faith Led, Justice Driven,” at the Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center.
Comedian Mohanad Elsheiky will also be performing.
The event will highlight the state of Muslim civil rights in Oregon, including recent successes in hate crime reform and challenging governmental policy.
