(WASHINGTON, D.C., 12/28/2018) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today said that its representatives will be attending a MAS-ICNA conference in Chicago, Ill. from December 28 to December 30.
CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad will be joining other prominent Muslim American leaders such as Linda Sarsour and Dalia Mogahed in three panel discussions on Islamophobia and activism throughout the weekend.
In addition to the panel discussions, CAIR attorneys will be offering free legal clinics throughout the weekend at its booth in the convention bazaar (#F35). CAIR Senior Litigation Attorney Gadeir Abbas and attorney Ahmed Mohamed will answer questions about the Trump administration’s “Muslim ban,” discrimination in the workplace or in schools, bullying of Muslim students, and other topics of concern to the American Muslim community.
At its booth CAIR will also providing limited copies of its post-election report, “The Rise of American Muslim Changemakers: Political Organizing in the Trump Era.”
