CAIR-SAN DIEGO REP SPEAKS ON ISLAM AND FILIPINO FAMILY VALUES
(SAN DIEGO, CA, 2/26/07) – A representative of the San Diego chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-San Diego) spoke recently about Islam and its role in the growth and preservation of Filipino values at the third annual Mabuhay Conference, “Fiesta: A Celebration of our Filipino Family Values,” at the University of San Diego.
CAIR-San Diego Public Relations Director Edgar Hopida, who is Filipino-American, also spoke on the similarities of Christianity and Islam and how they have helped shape the cultural and spiritual identity of Filipinos.
