(SAN DIEGO,Â CA, 11/22/15) â€“ On Monday, November 23, the San Diego chapter of the Council onÂ American Islamic Relations (CAIR-San Diego) will join the San Diego State University Muslim Student Association (SDSU-MSA) in their event â€œSDSU Action Against Islamophobia.â€
The SDSU-MSA is calling on the SDSU and greater San Diego community to rally against Islamphobia and bigotry and in defense of Muslim students and all those targeted by bias or discrimination. This event comes in response to the recent assault that allegedly occurred at the San Diego State University campus in which a female Muslim student was attacked, hate statements were made and her headscarf (hijab) was pulled off.
â€œThis attack is a direct result of the growing anti-Muslim rhetoric that has become prevalent in the United States and we are calling to end this trend,â€ said SDSU-MSA President Ahmed Buzeriba.

Rally participants will gather at Hepner Hall at 12:30 and march toward the Union, where we will have statements and speakers to address how to respond to this and other Islamaphobic acts.
