The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today said the Biden administration will forever be tied to genocide as Israeli forces attacked another war Gaza hospital, froze another Palestinian baby to death and expanded their ethnic cleansing of Gaza.
One eyewitness to Israel’s burning of Kamal Adwan hospital in Gaza reported “Israeli soldiers executing civilians on the spot, some of whom were wounded, while others carried white flags.” Dozens of women and girls were reportedly detained and subjected to “severe abuse.”

An Israeli attack on the upper floor of al-Wafaa Hospital in Gaza City, which treats the elderly, killed at least seven people. Israel also struck the top floor of Baptist Hospital, the last functioning medical facility in northern Gaza.

Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital has confirmed the death of a fifth baby due to hypothermia. Juma al-Batran, a 20-day-old baby, died from severe cold while his twin brother remains in the intensive care unit. A doctor at Al Tahreer Maternity Hospital in southern Gaza says he sees five to six cases of hypothermia in babies per day.

In an extension of its ethnic cleansing campaign in northern Gaza, Israeli forces ordered the remaining residents of Beit Hanoun to leave their homes.
Yesterday, CAIR called on the Biden administration to demand the release of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza, who was kidnapped by Israeli forces. Dr. Safiya was reportedly assaulted before being detained. An iconic photo of the doctor confronting Israeli tanks prior to his kidnapping is circulating online.
The government of indicted war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu now says it will not allow Gaza’s Kamal Adwan Hospital to operate again.
CAIR has repeatedly condemned Israel’s targeted attacks on hospitals and its killing, kidnapping and abuse of medical staff and patients.
In a statement, CAIR said:
“Through its complicity with the far-right Israeli government’s genocide in Gaza and that government’s ongoing war on hospitals, its freezing to death of Palestinian babies and its expanding campaign of ethnic cleansing, the Biden administration has lost any claim to humanity it had left. ‘Genocide Joe’s’ legacy will forever be tied to the unimaginable suffering of the Palestinian people that he enabled, supported and excused.”
Israel has slaughtered more than 45,000 people in Gaza, mostly women and children. The World Food Program now says Israel is forcibly depriving over two million people of access to food, water, shelter in Gaza.
Earlier this week, CAIR reiterated its call for the American Medical Association (AMA) to condemn Israel’s attacks on medical facilities in Gaza as three hospitals in devastated northern Gaza are under siege or face forced evacuation.

Earlier this month, CAIR called on AMA to condemn an Israeli massacre of medical personnel in Gaza. Israel has killed more than 1,000 Palestinian health care workers and destroyed most of the medical infrastructure in Gaza.
In its previous letter to AMA President Bruce A. Scott, M.D., CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad wrote:
“The genocidal far-right government of indicted war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu has already slaughtered more than 1,000 health care workers in Gaza, with the massacre of doctors at Kamal Adwan Hospital being just the latest atrocity. It is the duty of all those who care about the safety and security of medical personnel in conflict zones worldwide to speak out against these war crimes. We urge you, as president of the AMA, to take firm action in support of your colleagues under siege in Gaza.”
To date, CAIR has not received any reply to its letter despite sending copies to all AMA board members.

Last month, CAIR condemned the Israeli murder of a leading doctor in Gaza and urged the international community to mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People (Nov. 29) with renewed efforts to end Israel’s genocide.
