CAIR Seeks Stepped-Up Security for Worshipers at Texas Mosque Told to Convert ‘Before It’s Too Late’

websitelogo(SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS, 11/20/15) – The San Antonio chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-San Antonio) today called for stepped-up security by Corpus Christi, Texas, police after the Islamic Center of Corpus Christi received a letter mailed from Culver City, Calif. threatening the worshipers to “convert to Christianity now, before it is too late.â€

“We urge local law enforcement authorities to investigate this threatening letter and to take appropriate action, step up patrols in the area of the mosque and meet with Muslim community leaders to discuss security measures,†said CAIR-San Antonio President Sarwat Husain.

Husain said the incident is part of a backlash against the American Muslim community since the recent terror attacks in Paris.
