CAIR-St. Louis: Muslim Community to Pack 20,000 Meals for World’s Hungry

LOUIS, MO., 2/28/2016) – Later today, the Islamic Foundation of Greater St. Louis (IFGSTL), the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), Islamic Relief (IR), Project Downtown St. Louis (PDSTL), Stop Hunger Now, and the St. Louis Chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-St. Louis) will pack 20,000 meals to help feed the world’s hungry.

“As Muslims, it is our duty to help feed the hungry no matter what religion they are or where they are in the world,†said Dr. Helal Ekramuddin Chairman of the IFGSTL. “Charity is a foundation of Islam and as American Muslims it is our duty and privilege to help others.â€

“The St. Louis Muslim community is very active in charity and helping our fellow man,†said CAIR-St. Louis Executive Director Faizan Syed. “We operate four free health clinics, give out free meals to the homeless every week, operate Bait Ulmal that helps the needy with clothing and in-kind donations, and much more.â€
