(WASHINGTON, D.C., 3/7/19) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today issued a statement responding to the planned vote on a House resolution condemning anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and other forms of bigotry.
In a statement, CAIR said:
“All Americans should support statements denouncing anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and other forms of bigotry. Unfortunately, this resolution was introduced to silence legitimate criticism of domestic support for the discriminatory and segregationist policies of a foreign government that receives billions of American taxpayer dollars. We welcome changes to the resolution made in response to criticism by grassroots coalitions and voices of conscience within the House.”
CAIR is America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, protect civil rights, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
