(WASHINGTON, D.C., 3/31/2023) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today thanked community members for attending its annual iftar event in Fairfax, Va., last night.
The iftar, which was held at the Fairfax Marriott, featured a discussion with Professor Khaled Beydoun and remarks from CAIR staffers. Over 200 community members attended. The iftar was held to thank community members for their support for CAIR.
“We thank all community members who attended and celebrated with us last night,” said CAIR Deputy Executive Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell. “With your support, we will continue defending the civil rights of American Muslims and promoting justice for all, God willing.”
Our work defending civil rights would be impossible without the support of the American Muslim community.”
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
