(AUSTIN, TX, 12/16/2018) – On Monday, December 17, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, will hold a news conference in Austin, Texas, to announce a major First Amendment legal challenge to that state’s “No Boycott of Israel” or “anti-BDS” law (Tex. Gov’t Code § 2270.001 et. seq) enacted last year.
[NOTE: BDS refers to Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions in support of Palestinian human rights.]
The plaintiff in the lawsuit, as well as CAIR attorneys and CAIR-Austin staff, will be available for comment at the news conference.
