Other mobilization efforts will include registering voters at Bay Area mosques and community events, outreach to Muslim voters to encourage them to turn out for the elections and candidate forums or “meet and greets” with elected officials.

With the spotlight on Muslims in this election cycle, CAIR-SFBA hopes to challenge the hateful political rhetoric by encouraging American Muslims to voice their concern by casting their votes.

“The key to a thriving nation is having active players from every community who are civically engaged,” says CAIR-SFBA Government Relations Coordinator Sameena Usman.

Civic engagement has been a strong focus of the Muslim community this year, with over 600 participants state-wide attending CAIR-CA's annual Muslim Day at the Capitol lobbying day this past April.
