(MINNEAPOLIS, MN, 2/1/18) – Later today, the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, will respond to what it terms “smears and conspiracy theories” by Republican party officials in that state targeting Muslims and Islam.

CAIR-MN will offer that response at an event this afternoon with interfaith partners to launch a challenge to growing Islamophobia.

Earlier this week, CAIR-MN called on the Republican Party in that state to dismiss an official who claims that he uncovered a plot to “mobilize Muslims to infiltrate our Republican caucuses on Feb. 6.”
