(WASHINGTON, D.C., 9/14/23) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, is urging members of the Muslim community nationwide to register to vote on September 19, 2023, National Voter Registration Day, which is celebrated nationally on the third Tuesday of every September.
Register to Vote: Go to Vote.Gov: https://vote.gov.
In a statement, CAIR Director of Government Affairs Department Robert S. McCaw said:
“Every election year holds significant importance for our community, as it presents an opportunity for us to come together and actively participate in the democratic process.
“Registering Muslims to vote is a chance for our community to unify, increase our civic involvement, cast our ballots in substantial numbers, and make sure that our voices are acknowledged and respected.”
“Next year’s presidential election is just around the corner, so make sure you, your family, and your neighbors are registered to vote.”
CAIR estimates there are well over 1 million registered American Muslim voters in the United States, with large communities residing in key swing states.
This election advisory is part of CAIR’s ongoing Musims.Vote campaign to increase Muslim voter turnout nationwide.
