CAIR VOTING RIGHTS TRAINING ADVISORY – Today – CAIR On Air: Do You Know What to Expect at the Polls on Election Day?

(WASHINGTON, DC., 10/28/20) – Today, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, in an effort to train community members on their rights, will host a live 30-minute “CAIR On Air” at 7 p.m. (ET) on Facebook and YouTube themed “Do You Know What to Expect at the Polls on Election Day?” with guests:

  • Nusaiba Mubarak, Voter Mobilization Manager, MoveOn

This special program will be a community-wide training, hosted by CAIR, MoveOn and MPower Change to ensure that Muslims know their voting rights, and how to respond to potential violations of those rights. 

Kifah Shah is an applied econometrician, social entrepreneur, and expert digital and field campaigns strategist. Kifah has been a community organizer with the Asian Law Caucus, the Multicultural Community Center at UC Berkeley, CLUE LA, the Arab Resource and Organizing Center, and Unite HERE. Kifah has worked internationally on migration, health, and education policies/interventions at organizations such as the Migration Policy Group in Brussels, Belgium, and the Aman Foundation/USAID in Karachi, Pakistan. Kifah was selected as TED Resident, as a Fellow for the American Muslim Civic Leadership Institute and serves as a Board Member of the Sabika for Peace Foundation. Kifah holds a BA in Ethnic Studies from UC Berkeley and an MPA in Economic Policy from the London School of Economics.  

As a Voter Mobilization Manager at MoveOn, Nusaiba Mubarak mobilizes voters in battleground states through data research-driven strategies. Previously she served as the National Muslim Organizer and Political Coordinator for Bernie 2020. In over 10 years of organizing, Nusaiba has built strategies to advocate for Muslim communities and communities of color. Nusaiba holds a master’s degree in Sociology from Georgia State University.
