(WASHINGTON, D.C., 8/3/2023) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today announced that it has hired Shafiquil Muhshna as its new Government Affairs Coordinator.
Shafiquil Muhshna has a dual master’s in Social Work and Public Administration from Florida State University and has worked with many nonprofit organizations. She has worked for the Department of Children and Families as a Case Manager, interned at the Florida Legislature, and as the Senior Policy Analyst for the Salvation Army. She has experience in advocacy, government relations, and policy.
As the Government Affairs Coordinator, Shafiquil will help the Government Affairs Department coordinate meetings on Capitol Hill with congressional members, attend hearings, and advocate for the civil rights and concerns of the Muslim community.
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
