Calif. Muslims to Hold Tsunami Relief Fundraiser

(SACRAMENTO, CA 1/13/2005) – The 2-week long fundraising campaign by the
local Islamic Centers will culminate on Friday January 14, 2005 with a
major fundraiser to aid the victims of the South Asian Tsunami. The
fundraiser is organized by the Council of Sacramento Valley Islamic
Organizations (COSVIO). The local community is urged to support this
humanitarian effort. Over $90,000 have already been raised for Tsunami
relief. Final figures will be reported at the conclusion of fundraising
campaign.

Telephone donations: During the hours of fundraiser, donations may also be
made by telephone by calling (916) 802-9873

To encourage donations, the US Congress declared that any donations given
toward the Tsunami relief effort by the end of January can be counted as a
tax deduction for the 2004 tax year.
