Canadian Muslims condemn anti-Jewish article
The Canadian Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-CAN) today condemned a recent article published in a British Columbia Muslim newsletter that blamed Jews for faking the Holocaust, causing the Great Depression, beginning both the First and Second World Wars, and planning the 9/11 terror attacks.
(The Dec. 19 article was written by Idaho resident Edgar Steele, who the Southern Poverty Law Center identifies as an anti-Semite and anti-black racist.)
In a statement issued today, CAIR-CAN wrote:
“We stand with other Canadians in denouncing the contents of this hateful and malicious article.
“Such commentary is completely at odds with both the letter and spirit of Islamic teaching and merely hinders efforts at interfaith understanding and tolerance.”
