The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today is urging all eligible Michigan Muslim voters to participate in the state’s Primary Election and to use Muslims.Vote to verify their voter registration, locate their polling place, and make a voting plan before polls close today. Michigan’s primary election is taking place today, Aug. 4, with polls generally open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
FIND POLLING AND BALLOT INFORMATION
Michigan voters prepare to cast ballots in primary elections that will help determine candidates for Governor, United States Senate, and the United States House of Representatives, among other offices.
“Today is Election Day in Michigan, and every eligible voter should make a plan to cast their ballot,” said CAIR National Government Affairs Department Coordinator Shafiquil Muhshna. “Your vote is your voice. We encourage every Michigan Muslim voter to visit Muslims.Vote to confirm their registration, find their polling place, and participate in today’s election. Civic participation is both a right and a responsibility, and every vote helps shape the future of our communities.”
Last week, CAIR launched Muslims.Vote, a national voter engagement platform that provides voters with the tools they need to participate in every election. By entering their address, voters can check their registration status, locate their polling place, learn about their voting rights, and create a personalized voting plan.
Yesterday, CAIR and CAIR-Michigan also launched a statewide voter outreach campaign reaching more than 48,000 Muslim voters through robocalls encouraging participation in today’s primary election, reinforcing the importance of civic engagement and voter turnout across the state.
NOTE: As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, CAIR does not endorse or oppose any candidate for public office and does not encourage voters to support or oppose any political party. CAIR encourages eligible voters to participate in the democratic process and make informed decisions based on the issues most important to them and their communities.
