ISNA Convention to be Kicked-off by Press Conference of Muslim Leaders


The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), a preeminent international
Islamic organization, and its co-host for the ISNA Annual Convention, the
Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago (CIO), an umbrella
organization representing over 400,000 Muslims throughout Chicagoland, will
host a press conference on Friday September 3, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in Room 7
of the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont, Illinois. Speakers
will include Dr. Sayyid M. Syeed, Secretary General of ISNA, Dr. Ingrid
Mattson, ISNA Vice-President for the United States and Kareem Irfan, Esq.,
Chairman of the CIO.

The press conference will be the best opportunity for members of the press
to speak with these leaders during the course of the convention. Individual
requests for interviews can be met immediately after the press
conference. Member of the press are welcome to attend the press conference
and other convention events once they have their credentials. Press
credentials can be obtained at the Media Relations Booth located in the
lobby of the convention center. The booth will be open to serve journalists
from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. during each day of the convention.

The press conference will kick-off the 41st Annual ISNA Convention. The
theme of this year’s convention is “Islam: Dialogue, Devotion and
Development.” The convention will be held at the Donald E. Stephens
Convention Center, Rosemont, Illinois. From Friday, September 3, 2004 to
Monday, September 6, 2004 Muslims will immerse themselves in the pursuit of
Islamic knowledge through seminars presented by international Islamic
experts and scholars. Over 25,000 attendees are expected at this important
annual event.
