The Interfaith Communities United for Justice and Peace (ICUJP), the
Violence Prevention Coalition of Greater Los Angeles, the Muslim Public
Affairs Council and countless other co-sponsors will demonstrate commitment
to our city, our country and our world by joining across faith, community
and generational lines.
Two peace marches, each with an individual message tied into the overall
theme of the connection between domestic violence and international
violence, will converge in MacArthur Park in Los Angeles for a major march
and rally. Among the speakers are MPAC’s Senior Advisor Dr. Maher Hathout,
Rev. George Regis, and Rev. Ed Bacon.
Local American Muslims will meet at the Islamic Center of Southern
California at 9:30 a.m. and will join the march at 10 a.m. at the Emmanuel
Presbyterian Church (3300 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles).
