Today: CAIR On Air: ‘Justice for Alaa and E’lon: Defending Religious Freedom While Detained and In the Workplace’

(WASHINGTON, DC., 6/25/20) – Today, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, will host a live 30-minute “CAIR On Air: The Muslim Action Hour” at 3 p.m. (ET) on Facebook and YouTube.

Today’s program is themed “Justice for Alaa and E’lonDefending Religious Freedom While Detained and In the Workplace” with guests: 

  • CAIR National Attorney Zanah Ghalawanji
  • CAIR Florida Executive Director Hassan Shibly

For this program we will be talking to Attorney Zanah Ghalawanji from CAIR National about an employment discrimination complaint CAIR filed on behalf of an Indiana Muslim man who was fired after his requests for prayer breaks were denied and we will be talking to Attorney Hassan Shibly from CAIR Florida about the case of a Muslim woman in Miami forced to remove her hijab for a booking photo after being arrested during a protest.
