Salam Ms. Allouch. I live in San Francisco Bay Area in California (CA). I am a CPA and has active CPA license from The American Institute Of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). I have been working on Tax compliance of nonprofit organizations for years. Currently I look after Tax side of a small all women owned CPA firm in Concord, CA. This is my brief background.
I am reaching out to you since my parents are aging. They are currently with my brother in New York. Dad has lungs problem (COPD), mom has knee issues on both her legs, both have diabetes and blood pressure. It’s getting difficult for my brother’s family to take care of them, since both my brother and sister in law are very busy at work. My husband and I work full – time also. My mohter in law lives with us in the only and spare bedroom that we have in the first floor. All other bedrooms are occupied and in the 2nd floor. But if it comes down to it, I was thinking of quitting my full time job and running a Muslim home in East Bay of Northern California (NorCAL), where we live. Is there any guidance that you can provide to me? Or any referral who can guide me? We have great needs of Muslim Assisted Living and nursing centers in East Bay of NorCAL. Our muslim moms and dads are getting old; most need a lot of assistance. With 2-income working couple in this expensive area, it is not possible to provide them with assistance during the days, at times not even in the nights; since we are tired after long days at work, taking care of kids activities, dinner, homework etc. etc. etc. Muslim homes should have 5 times prayer options, prayer calling on time, halal meal options, same sex nursing assistants, where our elderly moms and/ or dads will feel comfortable. I am so new in the field that I need proper guidance to do it correctly. Can CAIR help me? Any little bit of help will go a long way, seriously. Please let me know either way. Regards, Sharmeen Siddiqui-Khan CPA.
