VA: Muslims Receive Dietary Help with New Law


Starting Saturday, Virginia's growing Muslim population can shop with confidence as a new state law makes it a class-3 misdemeanor for businesses to falsely advertise food as halal or kosher.

The law, which could result in a $500 fine for violators, requires vendors to provide certification information or a toll-free number or Web site to access it.
