(KANSAS CITY, KS, 3/8/17) – On Monday, March 13, the Kansas chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Kansas) and Kansas Interfaith Action (KIFA) will hold “Muslim Advocacy Day” at the Kansas state Capitol in Topeka.
The event includes a rally in the 2nd floor rotunda of the capitol building and formal acknowledgement in each chamber during the session by a state senator and a state representative. Meetings with lawmakers and their staff will take place following the rally.

The period leading up to the Muslim Advocacy Day is “Stand with Muslim Neighbors” week in Kansas, sponsored by CAIR-Kansas and Kansas Interfaith Action (KIFA), during which different places of worship have invited Kansas Muslims to speak, and pastors have dedicated part of their Sunday sermons to speak about solidarity with the Muslim community.
CAIR is America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
