What is CAIR’s vision and mission?  

CAIR’s vision is to be a leading advocate for justice and mutual understanding. CAIR’s mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, protect civil rights, promote justice, and empower American Muslims. 

Where is CAIR active?  

In addition to our national headquarters in Washington D.C., CAIR currently has offices in 23 states. Our National Office operates in states where there is no local or state office. To start a CAIR chapter in your state, email chapters@cair.com. 

How does CAIR fight Islamophobia & discrimination?  

CAIR fights anti-Muslim bigotry by filing lawsuits to stop illegal discrimination, lobbying government officials to support just policies, sharing American Muslim perspectives with major media outlets, educating members of the public about Islam and Muslims, among many other campaigns. 

What legal situations can CAIR handle?  

CAIR’s legal team works to protect the civil liberties and civil rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and federal law. Generally, CAIR represents clients who have experienced religious discrimination or been targeted because of their religion.  These cases could include hate crimes, employment discrimination, school bullying, travel discrimination, prisoner abuses, religious accommodations denials and related situations. We also support other groups’ litigation with Amicus Curiae briefs to educate courts on these issues. 

Can a CAIR speaker come to our school, club or business?

What educational resources does CAIR offer?
 

CAIR publishes Know Your Rights guides a variety of other informational guides for the benefit of Muslim students, travelers, and workers. CAIR also publishes Guides to Islamic Religious Practices for the benefit of institutions that may need to accommodate Muslims, such as schools, hospitals, businesses, and prisons. We also publish an annual Civil Rights report and an Islamophobia report every other year to document, expose and counter anti-Muslim hate. 

How is CAIR funded? 

CAIR is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. The overwhelming majority of donations to CAIR come from generous people of different faiths and backgrounds across America. CAIR also pursues grants from other public and private sources in America, such as charitable foundations. CAIR does not receive funding from foreign organizations or governments. 

How can I donate to CAIR?  

CAIR accepts donations in the form of one-time or recurring monetary donations, as well stock, crypto, automobile donations, and estate bequests. CAIR also accepts zakat donations.
