This last Friday and weekend in Ramadan

As-salaamu alaykum (peace to you).

Many of you consider this blessed last Friday and weekend in Ramadan to give your zakat or other donations because of the opportunity to receive additional blessings. We still need $350,000 to meet our Ramadan fundraising goal of $780,000, and we believe with your help we can do it.

This is a critical campaign, and we need your help to continue and expand our important work. [NOTE: Contributions to CAIR are both zakat-eligible and tax-deductible.]

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that anyone who performs an obligatory good deed during Ramadan, “it is as if that person performed 70 obligatory good deeds at another time.”

Just in the past few days, CAIR has:

Submitted testimony for a U.S. Senate hearing on the closure of the Guantanamo detention center
Challenged an anti-Islam bill legislators sent to the governor in North Carolina
Joined with a broad coalition seeking to ban racial and religious profiling by law enforcement
Exposed the extremist views of the leader of an anti-Muslim hate group invited to speak in a Minnesota school
Defended Muslim communities targeted by hate in Texas, New Jersey and California
