(WASHINGTON D.C., 12/10/2021) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called on members of the public to not make reservations at Hilton Hotels due to the corporation’s connection with the Uyghur genocide.
CAIR’s call comes a day after a judgement by the Uyghur Tribunal, an unofficial tribunal of lawyers and advocates, identifying Chinese leader Xi Jinping and other top Chinese officials as bearing “primary responsibility” for the genocide of Uyghur Muslims and other Turkic minorities in the Uyghur region of China.
Earlier this year, CAIR and 40+ international partners announced a global boycott of Hilton Hotels due to the corporation’s licensing of a hotel to be built on the site of a Uyghur mosque demolished by the Chinese government as part of its campaign of genocide against the Uyghur people.

In a statement, CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper said:
“As many Americans begin travelling for the holiday season, we urge them to not make reservations at Hilton Hotels. The Hilton corporation has made it clear that they do not value human rights and are willing to ignore China’s genocide of Uyghur Muslims as long as they stand to make a profit.”
