(BALTIMORE, MD, 5/31/2022) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned violent and racist threats made to a school in Potomac, Md., and expressed solidarity with students and staff.
Police increased their presence at Winston Churchill High School on Tuesday following a series of threatening social media posts reportedly made over the weekend. The posts allegedly included threats of violence against the school and specific individuals as well as racial slurs. Police reportedly concluded that the threats were not credible, and an investigation by the school system is ongoing.
