(WASHINGTON D.C., 7/12/2022) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the distribution of neo-Nazi flyers in Oelwein, Iowa.
The flyers, which promoted the white supremacist “Great Replacement” conspiracy theory, were found hanging in Oelwein’s city park. The flyers are believed to be linked to a “Crew 319,” a neo-Nazi organization based in Iowa.
“We condemn this attempt to spread racist hate and intimidate the residents of Oelwein,” said CAIR National Communications Coordinator Ismail Allison. “We urge law enforcement authorities to investigate this incident and to bring the perpetrators to justice.”
He noted that CAIR-MN recently condemned the distribution of racist materials in Lino Lakes, Minn.
