(PHILADELPHIA, PA, 5/28/2023) – The Philadelphia chapter of Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Philadelphia), a chapter of the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the distribution recently of white supremacist flyers in the Mount Airy neighborhood. Those flyers espoused racist messages promoting white power.

“The promotion of racist hate must be challenged and repudiated whenever and wherever it occurs,” said CAIR-Philadelphia Civil Rights Attorney Timothy Welbeck, Esq. “Silence in the face of bigotry only allows hateful messages to gain strength.”
He said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
