CAIR-SFBA Condemns Distribution of Racist, Antisemitic Flyers in Marin County Neighborhoods

(SANTA CLARA, CA, 8/1/2023) – The San Francisco Bay Area office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-SFBA), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the distribution of racist, antisemitic flyers in Larkspur and Corte Madera.

According to Marin police, the flyers were left in residents’ driveways on July 30 and are similar to hate-filled flyers found in driveways in several other San Francisco Bay Area cities, including Danville, Concord, Berkeley, and Palo Alto, over the past year. Police are asking the public to share any video footage that could help identify the perpetrator(s) or any similar leaflets they may have received.

In a statement, CAIR-SFBA Executive Director Zahra Billoo said:

It’s disheartening that such incidents of bigotry continue unabated across our nation. Each new incident, however, deepens CAIR-SFBA’s commitment to combatting these despicable acts of hatred in our communities. We stand in solidarity with the residents of Larkspur and Corte Madera and all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.”
