(WASHINGTON, D.C., 08/04/2023) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today thanked Representative Al Green (TX- 9) for introducing H.Res.635, a resolution recognizing Muslim history and acknowledging Islam as an important world religion. Muslim members of Congress, including Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Andre Carson, have expressed support for the resolution.

“We thank Rep. Green for introducing a resolution that recognizes the significance of Islam to world history and the contributions of Muslims to various nations, including America,” said CAIR Director of Government Affairs Robert S. McCaw. “We encourage other members of Congress to join Rep. Green in supporting the resolution.”
