More than 75 Muslims from around Colorado gathered in the Silverthorne Pavilion early Thursday morning chanting and singing during a celebration of the Islamic prophet Muhammad’s birthday. Mawlid is the term used to refer to the observance of the Islamic prophet Muhammad’s birthday which occurs in Rabi’-al-awwal, the third month in the Islamic Calendar.
