In response to Representative Joyce Beatty’s withdrawal of support for a ceasefire, concerned citizens and organizations from across Ohio are rallying together for a powerful demonstration to urge the Representative to call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire.

BACKGROUND:
Representative Joyce Beatty initially signed a letter advocating for a ceasefire addressed to President Biden. However, to the dismay of many, Beatty quietly removed her name from the letter just days later. This abrupt reversal has sparked concerns among Ohio residents who are deeply troubled by the apparent endorsement of the genocide in Gaza.
Despite repeated pleas from constituents for Representative Beatty to take a stand and call for a ceasefire, her office has consistently ignored these cries for action or to even meet with her constituents. The Ohio-wide rally aims to send a clear and unified message that the people of Ohio refuse to ignore Beatty’s apparent endorsement of actions contrary to the principles of peace, justice, and human rights.
